Under the Mistletoe - Card No. 090

Card No. 090
Hi there
I’m off on my hols again tomorrow, so thought I’d pop this one on the blog before I go.   I thought the image was from Funky Kits, but I’m not so sure now, as I’ve just checked out their website and can’t find it – maybe it’s been discontinued, as I’ve had it a while.  The papers are Nitwits and are from the  'Snow Folk Too' collection.
Sorry it’s just a quickie, but I must get off and do the packing now!!

Pink Snowlady – Card No. 089

Pink Snow Lady - Card No. 089 001
Evening peeps
As you’ve probably gathered I’m really into making Christmas cards at the moment.  I had planned to get ahead of myself this year, and keep making them after I’d finished Christmas 2009’s lot, but of course, the novelty wore off, and now I feel like I’m running behind, lol.

Today’s card is made using a High Hopes stamp - Snowlady Surprise.  I’ve coloured her with Copics and then added a good sprinkle of Glamour dust to the trim on her coat.  The paper I’ve used is another one in the download I bought  from Bearly Mine.  The scallops at the bottom of the card are made by cutting out small circle nesties, and then glueing the top of them behind the border strip.  The poinsettia is a die cut using a Marianne Creatable die, and it’s backed with an acetate snowflake covered in Twinklets, then I added an MS snowflake in white, and another one cut from acetate and sprinkled with glamour dust.  I love seeing how many combinations of snowflakes I can make.

Please leave a comment if you have time, as I love hearing what you think.

Molly starts BIG school!

1st Day at School card for MOLLY
Hi there
Today my youngest granddaughter, Molly,  started ‘BIG school’, and here’s the card that I made to mark the occasion.  She’s only going in the mornings to start off with, and when I spoke to her first thing she was SO excited, so I’m pleased to report that she went in as if she’d been going every day, and was happy as could be when she called me after lunch to tell me all about it.  Let’s hope it stays that way!!!
Anyway, the image I’ve used is from LOTV, it looks just like Molly which is what prompted me to use it.  I made the clock background paper with a couple of stamps from Clarity, and used a couple of other stamps for the little extra bits – stripes from HOTP, and the other one is an Anna Griffin, I think.  The sentiment was computer generated, and the small hearts were the punched out bits from a MS border punch.
Hope you like it.

60th Birthday

Dave Kidman's 60th Birthday 001
Hi there,

I forgot to say on my last post, that you lot all had me well and truly fooled – I thought it was only me that struggled to get a card to come together, and that you all put yours together in moments – seems from all your comments that I was wrong, so at least when I struggle with the next one, I’ll be able to tell myself that I’m not alone, lol.

Anyway, today’s card is one I’ve made for a very good friend’s 60th birthday later this month, we’ll be back in Spain, so I thought I’d better get it ready beforehand.
The image, ‘Happy Birthday’, and ‘not over the hill….’ sentiment, are from a new set of Kanban stamps which arrived in the post yesterday.  The papers are Basic Grey, but I can’t remember which set, and it’s all just simply matted onto black cardstock.

As always, I hope you approve, and thanks for taking the time to visit.

Card No. 88 – Molly’s Christmas Card

Card No. 088 - Molly's Christmas Stocking 001
Afternoon Peeps
Was busy yesterday playing with a more ‘fun’ style Christmas stocking for the kids, and came up with this one.  The Santa image is from Whiff of Joy.  Papers are Papermania ‘Deck the Halls’.  The ribbon is from my stash, and the sentiment ‘Molly’ was computer generated.  I then added loads of  Stickles, as Molly (my youngest granddaughter) does love her sparklies, as she calls them.

Hope you’re having a great weekend.

Card No. 087

IMG_0116

Hi there

Today I’m playing with my new computer, (the old one packed up on us, and I just couldn’t manage without my internet fix while hubby tries to sort out the problems).  Anyway, I have found a feature that is supposed to let me upload my pictures directly to my blog, so we shall see if it works!!!

I made this card a couple of days ago using a new Nellie Snellen stamp, and some Christmas backing papers that I downloaded from Bearly Mine.  I used an MS punch for the icicle strip which I then glittered up with Glamour Dust.  I punched some snowflakes using the large and small MS punches, and then added another snowflake which I die cut from acrylic and then added Twinklets to.  To finish off I added a couple of brads from The Hobby House, and stamped ‘Merry Christmas’.

As always, I hope you like it.

What a difference a day makes!!

Hi there peeps

I started making this card yesterday, and wouldn't have given it's chances of survival to my blog tuppence, as it was another one of  'those', that just wouldn't come together.  What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours ........  sorry, I'll stop singing now, lol.  Anyway, I went back to it this afternoon, and it was like a light went on, and suddenly I could see exactly how to put it together, and am quite pleased with it.  Does that ever happen to you guys, or is it just me?

The papers are once again from the Aimee Asher download.  The snowflakes are two different size MS punches, which I distressed with 'Antique Linen', and then glittered up with Glamour Dust.  I then added the small roses, and added a little stickles to continue the sparkle.  The sentiment was stamped and then cut out with my recent acquisition - another set of Nesties tags.  The very sparkly ribbon and lace are from my stash.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Card No. 085

Evenin' all!

Sorry going back a good few years there to the day's of Dixon of Dock Green, if anyone remembers it? Showing my age now, lol.

I really struggled with this card, I bought the papers as a download from Aimee Asher, and really like the set individually, but found putting them together something else!!!!!!!!  Anyway, I eventually settled for this combination set off with gold mirri card, which as usual hasn't photographed well.  The image is from Whiff of Joy, the holly was hand drawn and cut, then edged with a white pen and some glitter.  I wasn't happy with the circular background that my lady is set against, as it was too plain, so added some stamped snowflakes, which I think improves it a bit.  Don't be afraid to let me know what you think, even if you think it's rubbish!!

Have a great weekend - what's left of it.
