Snowmen in stockings???

Hi peeps
OK, so he's not really in a stocking, but admit it ....... it made you look, right?

Anyway, some of my longer term followers may remember me making a couple of stocking shaped cards last year  - they were a big hit with family and friends, so when I came across the template the other day I figured I'd give it another outing.  The snowman is one of my older ones, from Whiff of Joy, I think, although I've just had a peek at their website, and can't find him, so maybe he's been discontinued??   As usual he's been coloured with Copics and given the Glamour Dust treatment.  The patterned paper is another digi from Shery K, and because it was a bit 'in your face', I decided to use plain green card for the stocking top, toe, and heel, but hey, it's for Christmas, and Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a little sparkle, so when I'd finished I doodled little patterns all over the green bits with my glue pen, and then sprinkled them with Glamour Dust - MUCH better!!  Once again I've given the MS icicle punch an outing, and I made some more poinsettias using my Marianne Creatable dies - love 'em.  I then covered the flowers with glossy accents and sprinkled them with Twinklets Diamond Dust - think I might have gone a bit overboard!!!  The sentiment is a stamp from the latest Whimsy release, and that's it.

Hope you have a moment to let me know what you think.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Hi again peeps

Thanks for dropping by.  Today's card features a Santa stamp from Whiff of Joy, he's coloured as always with my Copics, and I'm rather pleased with how well the red came out, as like a lot of people, I do struggle with blending the reds.  The papers are digis from Shery K Designs,  they seen to have a good selection and great prices.  I've once again used the Naughty or Nice stamp from Whimsy which I absolutely love, and the Merry Christmas is from an old HOTP set.  Snowflakes cut with various dies, and then topped with a button and bakers twine complete this one.  Hope you like it.

What a 'Tweetie'!

Hi peeps

Todays card features two Whiff of Joy stamps.  I haven't done any masking for absolutely AGES, but suddenly the fit took me, and you know how it is?? LOL.  For the life of me I can't remember who the papers are by, could be Basic Grey, but I'm not really sure.  The image is coloured with distress inks - my favourite medium of the moment. The flowers are handmade using a variety of punches and die cut flower shapes, and the leaves are an MS punch.  That's about it really.

Please leave a comment if you have time, as I love hearing from you.

Card No. 88 – Molly’s Christmas Card

Card No. 088 - Molly's Christmas Stocking 001
Afternoon Peeps
Was busy yesterday playing with a more ‘fun’ style Christmas stocking for the kids, and came up with this one.  The Santa image is from Whiff of Joy.  Papers are Papermania ‘Deck the Halls’.  The ribbon is from my stash, and the sentiment ‘Molly’ was computer generated.  I then added loads of  Stickles, as Molly (my youngest granddaughter) does love her sparklies, as she calls them.

Hope you’re having a great weekend.

Card No. 085

Evenin' all!

Sorry going back a good few years there to the day's of Dixon of Dock Green, if anyone remembers it? Showing my age now, lol.

I really struggled with this card, I bought the papers as a download from Aimee Asher, and really like the set individually, but found putting them together something else!!!!!!!!  Anyway, I eventually settled for this combination set off with gold mirri card, which as usual hasn't photographed well.  The image is from Whiff of Joy, the holly was hand drawn and cut, then edged with a white pen and some glitter.  I wasn't happy with the circular background that my lady is set against, as it was too plain, so added some stamped snowflakes, which I think improves it a bit.  Don't be afraid to let me know what you think, even if you think it's rubbish!!

Have a great weekend - what's left of it.

21st Birthday Card

Evening peeps

I'm a bit disappointed with the photo of this card, as it's made the image look a bit washed out -  it does actually match the very hot pink of the trim on the card.  The patterned papers are from Papermania, and the complementary pink is  actually a glittered paper, but again, it doesn't translate well in the pic.  The flowers are hand made, and the ribbon is from my stash.  Sentiment is computer generated.

Hope you like it, and the bad picture doesn't put you off leaving a comment.

Thanks for looking

If the shoe fits ..........

Evening all,

Hope you're all well, and been enjoying this fabulous weather?

Today I would like to share a card I made at the weekend.  My daughter suddenly piped up on Saturday that she needed a card URGENTLY!!!  I hate it when people do this, as working under pressure is definitely NOT my thing!!!  However, for some reason, this one came together really easily, and my hubby said it was one of my best!!  The stamp is one of the City Girls, from Whiff of Joy.  I'm afraid I don't know where the paper came from, but I just love those colours.  The sentiment was computer generated, and goes on to say inside 'buy it in every colour'!  A sentiment a lot of us would agree with, I'm sure?

Hope you like it, and if you have time to leave a comment it would be much appreciated, as they always are.

Happy 60th Sue

Hi there peeps

Now, this card may give you a feeling of deja vu, as it's VERY similar to one I made a while back for a WOJ challenge.  However, I needed to make a 60th card for a very special lady, and while flicking through the folder that I keep a pic of all my stamps in, I came across this one, and thought it perfect for a celebration, after all, it's not everyday you hit 60!!

The flower, corner, and message are all different to the original card.  I was really pleased with the ticket sentiment, as I made it up using three different sets of stamps, which all fitted perfectly together.  Hope you like it.

60th Birthday

Hi again,

Had a bit of a panic with this one, as it was requested ages ago, and I forgot about it, horror of horrors!!!   Luckily, I had a couple of days to knock something together, thank goodness.

I decided to use this image from Whiff of Joy, as the lady who the card is for, is a bit of a 'hippy', and I figured this image might appeal.  The papers are from Basic Grey's Porcelain pack, and are some of my favourites, (guess I must have been feeling guilty about forgetting, to use these lovelies, lol).  The photograph doesn't do the colour scheme justice, as the outer mat and edging are actually gold mirri, but as always, the light reflected off of it, and it does't look quite right.

I printed off a sheet of plain paper in a sort of salmon colour to blend with the patterns, and then used it to make the flowers.  I felt that as it's for a 'special' birthday a bit of extra bling would be nice, so stamped the flowers randomly with a swirly stamp, and embossed them with gold embossing powder, before pinning them together with silver brads that I disguised by embossing with gold, too.  The number 60 was computer generated, and then embossed around the edge to match the rest of the flowers.  Hope you like it.

It's your day!

Evening all

Today I'd like to share a card which I've made with the Whiff of Joy challenge in mind.  I used their sketch, which I found great to work with, and am likely to use again.  The papers are from my wonderful, generous girlfriend Tasha (again!)  I bet she wishes she hadn't given me them now!  The background card is actually a very dark chocolate, and not black as you might get the impression from the pic.  I can't for the life of me remember the maker of the sentiment stamp, and as I'm stuck in bed at the moment, I can't go check them out. The little flowers on the tabs each side of the image are pieces of lace, and I love the way they look, backed with that lovely chocolate brown.  Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and have been stickled around the edges just to add a bit of bling, as has the beautiful young lady's dress.  I'm realy rather pleased with this one, and hope you like it too.

Willow - Born to shop!

Hi again,

This time we have Willow shopping - yes you're right, I succumbed to her at the same time as Willow Dancing!!  So who says you have to have will power, lol.

I know it's often said 'blue and green, should never be seen', but when I spotted these lovely papers from Doodlebug, I just had to have them, they're so bright and fresh looking.  The sentiment is from Papermania's 'Retail Therapy', range, charm and ribbon from stash, and of course Willow was coloured with Copics.

As always, I'd be grateful for your comments.

Willow Dancing

Good morning

Today we have a card made with my absolute favourite of the new Whiff of Joy 'City Girl' stamps.  I'm going to the 'Make It' show at Farnborough on Sunday, and should really have been saving my pennies to spend there, but having sat on my hands for a week, I couldn't resist 'Willow Dancing' any longer - oh well, you only live once!!

Background papers are from Making Memories.  Turquoise flowers from stash, with brown centres cut with a punch.  Sentiment from Hero Arts, Sparkle Clear range.

Thanks for looking, and do let me know what you think

Whiff of Joy - Apples

Hi there

You might remember from yesterday's card that 5 x 7 is not my favourite sixed card to work with, but I bought a couple of boxes of this size cards and envelopes a while back, and figured I should use them up.  So I'm hoping that you'll think they're O.K.

I coloured in this image along with several others a while back, before I realised that it's much easier to match your colouring to the papers you've chosen, rather than the other way around.  Durr!!  Anyway, I think this paper (sorry, I've forgotten who it's by), goes quite well with it, and I decided to go with red rather than green to give the card a little extra colour.  The sentiment is part of a stamp from Catslife Press.  I say part of a stamp, because I cut a most of the circle off  to achieve the effect I wanted, but the complete stamp is really nice too.

The little button type embellishments and the corners are done with a set of dies by Spellbinders, and then sanded to emphasise the embossed effect.  Colouring - Copics.
