Ain't Love Grand?

Hi peeps
Well, I'm home again, after all those lovely weeks in Spain, and would you believe I was lucky enough to have those few days of sunshine when we got back too!  Now it's back in at the deep end, and I've somehow got to find a way of getting through the dark winter months, so it's back to my card making and paper crafts.

Today's card is one that a friend asked me to make for her parent's 65th wedding anniversary - Imagine ... 65 years together, how incredible is that?  Anyway, the image is a digi from the lovely Mo Manning.  I've wanted to use this one for ages and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.  The papers are some old ones, donated to me by my lovely friend Tash, so I'm afraid I don't know who they're by, but I do love the pink, cream and brown together.  I cut a heart shape out of corrugated cardboard, then covered it in white crackle paint, and edged it with Walnut Stain distress ink, and added a touch of pink distress ink over the white just to soften it a bit.  Each of the layers was stitched in place, and then I added some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, printed the sentiment and cut it out with a nestie, then added a couple of bits of ribbon, a pin, and a heart charm from my stash, and that's about it.  I do hope you like it.

A SEMI retirement card!!

Well, hopefully you're all nearly ready for Christmas now, as it's almost upon us.

Today I have a non-Christmas card to show you.  A friend asked if I could make a card for a lady who is going into semi-retirement, after years as a high flying business woman, and this is what I came up with.  The stamp was a FREEBIE from the wonderful Mo Manning, which I've been itching to use for ages, but just haven't gotten around to it, so this seemed the perfect opportunity.  The papers are I think from Basic Grey. The ticket was computer generated, and then cut out with my new ticket die from Whimsy - it's BRILLIANT!  The flowers and candy dots are home made, oh, and I nearly forgot the little bit of border just poking through under the ticket, which was cut with an MS punch.

If you can spare a minute at the busiest time of year to leave a comment I would love to hear what you think of my creation.

Baby Girl - Pink Christmas

Hi there

Today's card uses yet another image from the delightful Mo Manning.  As I made it a few days ago, and have an AWFUL memory due to old age setting in (lol), I can't remember who the papers are from, but I do know they're digitals.  The poinsettia was cut using Marianne Design small poinsettia dies, I then cut some leaves with the lovely MS leaf punch, and put a snowflake, again made with one of Mariannes dies underneath.  All was then thoroughly tarted up with Glamour Dust.  A bit of stitching, a computer generated sentiment, and that about sums it up.

Baby boy's Christmas

Hi again

Today's card uses another Mo image, this time it's 'I even like the box'.  I'm really quite pleased with the way this one turned out.  Hope you like it too.

Tasha's Birthday Card

Hi there peeps

Today I would like to share a card that I made for my friend's birthday.  The image is one from Mo Manning, and reminded me of my friend the minute that I saw it, and would you believe that they're both called TASHA!!!  My friend of course isn't only 2 years old, and thank goodness I've never seen her have a tantrum, but I bet when she does, she looks just like this, lol.  To add insult to injury the papers that I've used on the card are some of an enormous pile that Tash gave me earlier this year because she didn't like them any more!!  Talk about getting your own back, lol.

I used a Martha Stewart punch for the white border, Nesties for all the shapes, and with a couple of homemade flowers and a bit of stitching that's about it.

Hope you like it

Marcus's 1st Birthday

Hi again, peeps

Another card for the male species today, but this time for a little boy who's just about to celebrate his first birthday.  The image I've used is a digital stamp called 'I love it', from Mo's Digital Pencil.  Mo draws such fab designs, and I needed something quick for this one, so it was the perfect solution.  I really struggled to find any paper suitable for a little boy in my stash, I have stuff for the men, but nothing very boyish, as I tend to make girlie cards mostly.  However, I came across the remains of these papers from Doodlebug, and thought they were bright and cheerful but NOT girlie, so hopefully he'll like it.  I used one of my many MS punches to make the border.  My new star shaped nesties were just right for highlighting his age, and the sentiment was computer generated.

Hope you like it.

Kai in the Snow - PINK version

Hi there,

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  The card above was made as part of a Christmas order, and I'm REALLY pleased with it.  The only thing is, it didn't photograph as well as I would have liked, and the mirri card at the back looks gold, as opposed to the silver that it actually is.

I don't think I'll be posting much now for a week or two, as I've had a tremendous response to my daughters taking my cards in to work, and dance, and am busy making up orders for about 40 cards, which might be pushing it a bit, if my back doesn't play ball.  I've roped my hubby in to help, and he's spent quite a bit of his day off learning to make envelopes - bless him, he really is a treasure!

Will post again when I've got the orders out of the way.
