Dress for SUCCESS!

Hi peeps

Hope you're enjoying the bank holiday weekend?

I saw this digi image on a blog somewhere, and immediately fell in love and HAD to HAVE it!!  Come on people, you know what it's like!  Oh, NO!  I've just realised I've lost the details of the site I bought it from!!  Anyway, the image, as always is coloured with Copics.  Papers, once again are from the lovely Nitwits, I added a piece of paper rafia, and a couple of homemade flowers, and that's about it.

Do let me know what you think, if you have time.

PS. I've just found the details of where the image came from, in case anyone wants to get it, it was Digi Doodle Shop

Penny Black birthday card

Hi folks

A friend asked me to make a special card for her Mum, she said she likes 'cutesy', so hopefully this will fit the bill??  The image I've used is one from the 'Tiny Wishes' set, by Penny Black.  I fell in love with this hedgehog the first time I saw it, and have used it quite a bit.  The papers are from Nitwits, and are from the Perfect Pear Too set.  I really love these papers they're SO pretty.  The sentiment was computer generated and cut out using one of my Spellbinder dies.  The flowers, as usual are home made, using a selection of punches, and papers from the Perfect Pear set.  The butterflies are cut using an MS punch, I've done two layers on each to give them a bit more 'movement', and then stickled them and added some crystals from my stash.  Hope you like it, and as always, a BIG thanks for looking.

OMG - Have you seen this?

Wow, what do you think of the new LOTV stamp release due out on 1st June, isn't it fab?  If you'd like a chance to win the whole set, get over to LOTV's challenge blog, NOW!

A little birdie told me .........

Hi again

Just wanted to show you this card made with my new Leanne Ellis stamp.  I really like this image, and it's something quite different for me, not so 'cutesy' if you know what I mean?  If you like it, you can get it from Funky Kits.  The papers are Basic Grey, although I can't remember which pad, how scatty am I these days??  The bigger flowers are from my stash with a paper punched one in the middle, and for once, I think you can actually see a bit of the stickles I've smothered this card in, lol.  The sentiment is from WOJ, Birdie Love set.

Thanks for looking

Tilda Elf

Hi everyone,

hope you've all been enjoying the beautiful weather we've had over the last couple of days.  I've spent a bit of time out in the sun, but enjoy my cardmaking so much I can't stay away for long!!

This time I've copied a colouring technique that I saw on the new LOTV blog.  I really like the way it turned out on Tilda's dress, so may be using this in future.  The yellow patterned background papers are from a K&Co's Sparkly Sweet pad, backed by plain blue and white.  I highlited the background Tilda is sitting on with distress ink, made up some flowers using various punches and a few sparklies, and hey presto!

Thanks for looking, and any comments you might wish to leave.

Happy 60th Sue

Hi there peeps

Now, this card may give you a feeling of deja vu, as it's VERY similar to one I made a while back for a WOJ challenge.  However, I needed to make a 60th card for a very special lady, and while flicking through the folder that I keep a pic of all my stamps in, I came across this one, and thought it perfect for a celebration, after all, it's not everyday you hit 60!!

The flower, corner, and message are all different to the original card.  I was really pleased with the ticket sentiment, as I made it up using three different sets of stamps, which all fitted perfectly together.  Hope you like it.

Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend.

Today I'd like to show you a card which a friend asked me to make for Father's Day.  She asked for a boat, or yacht, hopefully this will suit.

The papers are from the Nitwits 'Sandcastle' collection.  The yacht has been coloured with Copics.  I added a little extra interest using one of the Martha Stewart punches.  The sentiment was computer generated, and then cut out with my recent acquisition of the star Nesties, and that's about it really simple, but hopefully it works?

Thanks for looking, and to all of those who take the time to leave a comment.

Rugby Man

O.K. so I've made cards for football fans, fishermen, and DIYers, so today it's one for the Rugby fans.  As yet, they don't appear to have released the Flippin' Men in all their different guises, so I had to resort to decoupage for this one.  It's quite a big picture, which meant I had to use an A5 card which I'm not usually terribly comfortable with, and with it being a man's card I wanted to keep it fairly simple, so used only one patterned paper, and just did lots of matting and layering.  I distressed the surround of the white mat, in line with the grubby rugby kit, did a bit of faux stitching, and that's about it really.  The darkest mat is actually a very dark green to match with the stripey paper, and not black, as it appears on my screen.

Do let me know what you think, if you have the time, and inclination.

Molly's 4th Birthday

Hi again

Today I have an easel card to show you.  It's for my youngest granddaughter who will be 4 years old on Sunday.  I was originally going to give her a card I made a few weeks ago, but then when this lovely Tina Wenke stamp plopped through the letterbox the other day, I really thought Molly would like it, so decided to do another card for her.  The papers are from K&Co, and I stupidly changed my mind half way through about my design, so was running short on paper.  However with a bit of improvisation I managed to achieve the card you see above, and I'm really quite pleased with it.  It doesn't show very well on the pic, but there's loads of glitter on it.  I also changed the green paper base a little, by cutting out the flowers from the piece of paper that I cut by mistake, and then glued them in place to make the base look more balanced.  As you can see, the nesties got a good old airing on this one, how on earth did I manage before having a Cuttlebug, and my nesties???

Hope you like it.

Silver surfing!

Hi peeps

The card I have to show you today is for the 80 year old gentleman that I made the ballroom dancing card for a few days ago.  His daughter tells me that he's into his dancing, and computers, not bad at 80, eh?  Anyway, I looked around but couldn't really find any stamps of an elderly chap with a computer, except this one from Jolly Nation, however, not thinking it's something I'll use very often, I decided against buying the stamp, and bought a sheet of decoupage instead.  Only problem with that, as I realised when it arrived, was that the guy's hair was blonde!!  How many guys of 80 do you know with blonde hair???  So, I set to work with my Copics, and I think I've made him passably silver now?

The papers are once again from Summer's FREE download - Happy Father's Day set, which I love.  They really are versatile for male cards.  Sentiment was computer generated, and then mounted on a couple of layers cut with nesties.  Corner card candy, made by yours truly.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

60th Birthday

Hi again,

Had a bit of a panic with this one, as it was requested ages ago, and I forgot about it, horror of horrors!!!   Luckily, I had a couple of days to knock something together, thank goodness.

I decided to use this image from Whiff of Joy, as the lady who the card is for, is a bit of a 'hippy', and I figured this image might appeal.  The papers are from Basic Grey's Porcelain pack, and are some of my favourites, (guess I must have been feeling guilty about forgetting, to use these lovelies, lol).  The photograph doesn't do the colour scheme justice, as the outer mat and edging are actually gold mirri, but as always, the light reflected off of it, and it does't look quite right.

I printed off a sheet of plain paper in a sort of salmon colour to blend with the patterns, and then used it to make the flowers.  I felt that as it's for a 'special' birthday a bit of extra bling would be nice, so stamped the flowers randomly with a swirly stamp, and embossed them with gold embossing powder, before pinning them together with silver brads that I disguised by embossing with gold, too.  The number 60 was computer generated, and then embossed around the edge to match the rest of the flowers.  Hope you like it.

Chaz - 8 Today

Evening all,

Sorry about this, but the men's cards are truly in demand at the moment.  This time it's a request for an 8 year old's birthday.  The lady was VERY specific about what she wanted, it had to be a boy playing football, and wearing a yellow shirt, with green collar and a green stripe on the sleeve, with a No. 3 on it.  The shorts were to be green, but she didn't mention the socks or hair colour, so I had to go back to her and check on those!!  Having stamped up the image, I realised there was no way I could put a No. 3 on the shirt, as his arm is in the way, and, oh, NO!!  Horror of horrors, there was a No. 5 on the shorts!!!  Having sat down and thought about it, I decided the only way I could get around it, was to scan the image, (which I'd already started to colour), then put a white patch on the shorts to cover up the No.5, and then hopefully type in a No. 3 over the top. Having done all this, I'm pleased to report, that it worked a treat, and with a bit of paper piecing, I didn't even have to re-colour the original image.  Hopefully you can just about see the No. 3 on the shorts????

I then went through my stash to find suitable papers, but the green and yellow combo, was WAY too bright, so I eventually settled for stamping my own football background, and then just adding a little yellow trim, here and there to bring it all together.  I hope it works for you guys, and most importantly for the lady who requested it!!!!!!

Fishin' you a 'Happy Father's Day'

Hi again

Todays effort is yet another man's card.  The stamped image is from a Papermania set, which considering they're so cheap, seem to stamp really well, and are far more effective once coloured than I thought they were going to be.  The papers, are again from the Happy Father's Day set that I used the other day.  I love these papers and the colours are so masculine.  The star and mat that the fisherman is mounted on, are both cut with nesties.  The corners are die cuts, but I can't remember whose, sorry!!  I wanted to add a little colour to the mat, so decided to do some stitching with a piece of string that I dyed with my copics to match the colour scheme.  I was a bit nervous about doing this, as the string was so thick I had to pre-punch the holes, and was worried in case I didn't get it straight, but it turned out OK, and I'm quite pleased with the effect.  Both sentiments were computer generated.  Hope you have time to leave me a comment.

Dance like no one's watching

Well, not quite sure about this one!!  I was asked to make a card for an 80 year old gentleman who likes ballroom dancing.  I knew I had absolutely NOTHING amongst my stash for this, so hunted the internet until I came up with this clipart image.  Because it's not the clearest, I decided to cut it out and emboss it with clear embossing powder to try and make it stand out a little more.  I then used some 1mm sticky pads to lift it from the mat, and made a frame using my oval nesties.  The background paper is Papermania.  I used an MS punch on silver mirri card to add a bit of interest.  The sentiment was computer generated, and then cut out with another Nestie, and then fixed with a bit of ribbon from my stash.   I think the thing I'm not too sure about is the 80, but it had to be there, as it's quite an achievement to get to that age, don't you think?

I hope you like it, and more importantly that the lady who requested it does, lol.

Hope you've enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend.

Thanks for looking
