Gemma - 8 Today!

Hi there

Today is my middle Granddaughter's birthday, so I thought I'd show you the card I made her.  This Tilda always reminds me of Gemma, so I thought it would be just right for her card.  I've also used another Magnolia stamp for the background.  I decided to try a totally different style of card to make it something special for her, and this is what I came up with.  Sorry it's not the greatest photo, easel cards are SO hard to photograph.

Hope you approve.

Big Sister!

Hi there,

Today, inspite of the beautiful weather I was feeling inspired, so I made this card ready for my sister's birthday in August.  She's not really a 'cutesy' type of girl, which as you all know is my favourite style, but LOVES gardening, so I thought she might appreciate this digital image from Digi Doodle Shop.  They have some FAB images there, and designed two VERY special stamps of disabled children in wheelchairs especially for me!!   Once again, many thanks for that Judy!

Anyway, back to my card.  The paper is from Nitwits, Noah's Too collection.  I wanted to keep it fairly simple in order to preserve the country feel, but of course had to add some flowers, which come from my stash for a change!!  The leaves are an MS punch.  The swirly corner is a Cuttlebug die, and the candy is, as usual, home made.  I then added a bit of matching ribbon, and the charm which is a little touch that I hope she'll like.  Oh, and don't worry - she NEVER looks at my blog!!

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to let me know what you think of my little creation if you have time.

Miss Anya does summer!

Hi again

I was asked on Monday if I would make a card for one of my daughter's work colleagues - her birthday is on Friday, ANOTHER ONE, at the last minute!  The only info I had was that she likes turquoise, and is quite 'girly'.  So with the lovely weather we've been having I decided to make a sunny, summery card and this is what I came up with.  Sorry I'm in a bit of a rush tonight, so I won't bore you with the details, but if there's anything you want to know, feel free to email me.

If the shoe fits ..........

Evening all,

Hope you're all well, and been enjoying this fabulous weather?

Today I would like to share a card I made at the weekend.  My daughter suddenly piped up on Saturday that she needed a card URGENTLY!!!  I hate it when people do this, as working under pressure is definitely NOT my thing!!!  However, for some reason, this one came together really easily, and my hubby said it was one of my best!!  The stamp is one of the City Girls, from Whiff of Joy.  I'm afraid I don't know where the paper came from, but I just love those colours.  The sentiment was computer generated, and goes on to say inside 'buy it in every colour'!  A sentiment a lot of us would agree with, I'm sure?

Hope you like it, and if you have time to leave a comment it would be much appreciated, as they always are.

LOTV Baby

Hello again

Hope you're having a great weekend, what ever you're doing?

I made this card yesterday using one of the latest LOTV images, isn't he just adorable?  I decided to keep it simple, and lots of flowers didn't seem quite right on a boy card either.  The checked paper I've used is from the 'Sweet Nothings' pack by Papermania.  The hearts border is cut with an MS punch, as is the larger heart, which I backed with plain white paper.  The sentiment was computer generated, and then cut out with a Nestie, and there you have it.

Thanks for looking

My first H&S image

Hi again

Today I would like to share my first Hanglar & Stanglar image with you.  I've been itching to get my hands on some of these little beauties for ages, and SO enjoyed colouring this one.  Yet again the papers were given to me by my lovely friend Tash, they're by Blonde Moments, but I'm afraid I don't know if they're still available.  The flowers are handmade, and the sentiment stamps are from a Personal Impressions set, which I believe is called 'All Year Round', and is designed by Paula Pascual.  Hope you like it??

Beach Wedding!

Hello again

Well, this is it - my FIRST 8" x 8" card!!  I've always been a bit scared of going large, but I just adore this paper, kindly donated once again by my good friend Tasha, and wanted to show it off, as it's my FAVOURITE colour.  Edwin, Tilda and the beach scene are from Magnolia's most recent wedding release, don't you just love them?  I decided as it was  a beach wedding scene that I was trying to create, that the flowers should be exotic colours, so went for a mixture of hot pinks and orange, and for once have used flowers from my stash, while the leaves have been cut with an MS leaf punch.   I cut out Edwin and Tilda, and mounted them on some foam pads to give the picture depth, then added some Flowersoft sand, and a tiny shell gathered on one of my forays to the beach.  The corrugated turquoise card was from a little cheapy shop locally, as was the ribbon, and the sentiment was computer generated.

As always, I'd be glad to hear what you think, if you have time.

Tilda & bridesmaid

Hi peeps

I'm thrilled to be able to show you a card featuring the new Magnolia Bride and Bridesmaid stamp that I bought from Bunny Zoe at the weekend.  Nikki's service is really fast, and I received all six of my new stamps yesterday!!!!!!!!!!  So watch out, as no doubt the rest will be appearing on cards VERY soon, that is of course if my back let's me craft, and fingers crossed, I seem to be having a good spell at the moment.

The paper I've used is one that my lovely friend Tash gave me way back in February.  The flower is of course, home made, and looks a lot better in real life than on the pic.  I glittered it up well around the edges, although I'm not sure it shows up that much on here.  I then cut a silver swirl with one of the dies from Marianne Creatables.  I love this swirl, as I can cut it down according to what project I'm working on.  The little tags were computer generated, and then cut out with a tiny tag punch.  I attached them with a little silver chain, and then hooked it onto the bow using a jump ring.  The final touch was the home made silver card candy that I put in each corner.

Hope you like it?

Star in the making!

Hi again

Looks like I'm on a roll with the boy cards at the moment.  This is another LOTV stamp that the lovely Tasha let me borrow at the weekend.  The patterned paper is from Nitwits - Little Men set - where else? lol.  Bright green card, a bit of matting and layering, some flower soft for the grass, and that's about it on this one.   I did of course use my Nesties for all the stars - these are great for male cards, and make up for not being able to use flowers, lol.

Do leave a comment if you have time, as I love to hear from you.

Having a Swinging Time!

Hi there peeps,

Hope you all had a great weekend?

Today I would like to share this card that I've made just for the fun of it.  My friend Tasha kindly let me use some of her stamps over the weekend, and I love this one, it is of course from LOTV.  The papers are another selection from Nitwits, called Little Men - Tash donated these too, bless her!  Unfortunately, I made a little boob just after I'd finished colouring my 'little man', and ended up with a tiny splotch of something to the left hand side of the image.  I was really cross with myself, so was trying to think of something I could use to cover it up, when I suddenly remembered the leaves stamp that I received in an old Magnolia club set.  I got them out, and coloured them with my Copics, then cut them out, and mounted them using some sticky pads, and thank goodness it covered up the splodge, and I think, adds something to the picture???  A border cut with an MS punch, a bit of string, and a computer generated sentiment completes the card.

As it fits the bill, I'm going to enter it into this week's Simon Says Stamp challenge which is Fathers Day/ Male card.

Hope you like it.

Hugs
