Kelly's Wedding

My HANDSOME Husband!
Hi there peeps

Well, yesterday was the day we'd all been working towards - my one and only daughter finally tied the knot, after about 15 years with her partner, and having already produced their little family of 3 beautiful daughters.  In my day, we did it the other way round, lol.

Anyway, as some of you have asked to see pictures, I thought I'd upload a few.  Please note, there are none of me, as those that were taken I HATED!!!  Hopefully the professional photographer might have one that doesn't make me look humungous!!

Gemma - Granddaughter No. 2 - Aged 8

No 1 Granddaughter - Abi - Aged 9 (nearly 10)

Molly - The youngest - Aged 4
And FINALLY ........... well I don't want to bore you ...

The NEW Mr & Mrs Humphries & girls

OK folks - Paul was cross because I didn't like any pics of me, but my sister came to the rescue with one that's not TOO bad, so here I am ....

You will all be pleased to hear that the day went well, and the ceremony was very relaxed and a lot of fun.

Hugs

Card No - 094

Hi again

Today's card is one of Kenny K's saucy little numbers - don't you just love these for Christmas cards for the guys? I didn't really know how I wanted to present this image when I started out, and certainly didn't visualise putting a flower on the card, as obviously it's aimed at a man, but I think it works - let me know what you think.

Sorry this is brief, but it's my daughter's wedding tomorrow, and I've still loads to do!

Have a great weekend.

60 Today!

Dave Kidman's Birthday Card from Ali - 086

Hi there peeps

I don’t think I’ve shown you this card before as I made it just before I went to Spain in September, for my friend to give her husband on his 60th birthday.  It’s an 8 x 8 card – not done many of these, but as it was a decoupage image I needed something bigger than my usual 6 x 6.   Other than a bit of matting and layering, I made a little pair of metal rimmed glasses to make it look like Dave (her husband), and some flower soft to give a bit of texture to the 'bowling green', and that's about it.  Ooops! Nearly forgot as I made it such a long time ago - the background red paper was originally plain, but I splodged some glue on it, and had to try and cover it up, so after a bit of cussing I thought I'd try a stamping something small all over the visible areas with Versamark and it worked - phew!  What a relief, lol.  I then covered up another little glue mark by adding some peel offs all the way around the edge, and voila, one card rescued.  Note to self:  Don't be over enthusiastic with the glue, lol.

Hope you like it.

Happy Birthday Katie!

Hi peeps

Today I'd like to share a card I made on behalf of my daughter for her best friend's 30th birthday.  She's quite a hip chick, so I figured she might like this fab image from Kenny K.

Oh, Lord, I've forgotten who the paper is by now, sorry!  The stars were cut using Nesties, the sentiments were computer generated.  I used two Nestie die cuts offset to back the image, a bit of ribbon from my stash, and that's it.

Please feel free to let me know what you think.

A step away from the norm!

003

Hi again

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that I actually found two unfinished products when sorting out my stash the other day.   In this instance, it was the swirly background paper that I could decide how to use.  I’d made it having watched a demo on TV by Sheena Douglas, and though while pleased with the effects I’d created found it way too ‘busy’ for me, and couldn’t decide how best to use it.  So having fetched it out again, and determined that I must use it to get it out of the way, I decided to use some of my much neglected flower images from Justrite Stamps.  First of all I stamped up the flowers, and then I stamped the border separately, having mounted the stamp on a clear block instead of the wooden one that I normally use with it.  I embossed it in gold, and then added a succession of circles cut with Nesties.   I cut the centre strip with a Magnolia Doo Hickey die, and added a strip of gold mirri which I’d put through my corrugating tool.  It all still looked a bit dark, so then I hit on the idea of cutting down the patterned paper and adding some plain white and gold mats behind it, and eureka, it suddenly ‘worked’.    I then stamped up the sentiment, and added a purple flower and a couple of leaves to finish it off.

Do feel free to let me know what you think, your opinions are always appreciated.

LOTV Lady rescues old card!!

002

Hi there peeps

Today I would like to show you something that I made from a card I started over a year ago, lol.   I’d previously added the white swirls to the pinky mauve paper, but then the image that I wanted to use didn’t seem to work with it, and so it got shoved away in one of the many of the bags and boxes of stuff in the craft room, never to see the light of day until I had a sort out earlier this week.  When I came across it, (together with another piece, which I’ll show you tomorrow), I decided that I should either use it, or throw it out, and this is how it ended up.

Hope you like it.

Card No. 093 – Santa & Puppy

002

Hi there peeps

Hope you’re enjoying the weekend.

I’ve had to spend a fair bit of time in bed this week, but over a couple of afternoons, finally managed to complete this card.  Once again, I’ve used mirri card, which is such a pig to photograph, so I hope you’ll ignore that aspect – the card actually looks much better in the flesh, so to speak.

Anyway, the image is by Giordano and is called ‘Our Family’.  I actually found it really difficult to find papers that went with Santa’s vivid red suit, so in the end resorted to using plain card in red and white.  I gave the white card some texture by running it through the Bigshot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The snowflakes are cut with Nesties dies, and the small MS snowflake punch, which I then topped with the red ribbon.  A very simple card, but it took me ages!!!

Hope you like it, and thanks for visiting, your support really is appreciated, and when I’m lying in bed feeling fed up, your comments really give me a boost.

Card No. 092

005

Evening all

Today I’d like to show you a card featuring a stamp by Pure Innocence called  ‘Flurry of Love’.  The paper I’ve used is from Crafts Too, to which I added a white border finished one side with an MS snowflake border punch, and the wavy side was done with shaped scissors.  The snowflake is a mix of a Spellbinders die cut, and an MS small snowflake punch.  Not much else to tell you about it, other than I actually quite like this one myself, lol.

Giving Card Making the Boot!

123

Ha!  Bet that got ya goin? lol.

Gone totally away from my comfort zone with this one.  A friend asked me to make a 30th birthday card for someone totally into fashion, shoes, bags etc. you know the sort, so I decided to make a template for something different (well for me), and this is what I came up with.

I used C’ordinations card stock, which I then put through an embossing folder, it didn’t quite fit, which left me with a plain toe cap which I rather liked.  I then cut a piece of lilac glitter card and trimmed it using the MS doily punch, to this I added a strip of the plain card, and then a peel off strip to add a bit of extra interest.  I also added peel off strips to the toe cap.  I cut two flowers with a punch, and then put them through another embossing folder, after which I sanded all the embossed areas to bring out the pattern.  The swirl flower stem is cut using a Marianne Creatables die.  Sentiment was computer generated and then cut out with a Nestie tag die, I added a bit of ribbon from my stash, and that’s about it.

As always, I hope you like it.

Card No. 091 – Frosty & Friend

122
Hi there peeps

Sorry it’s been such a long time since I’ve posted anything, but I’ve been really busy with preparations for my daughter’s wedding, and what with doing all the various stationery, not to mention altering the bridesmaid’s dresses, and shortening my own dress, I’ve had very little time for making cards.  As a friend suggested a broom shoved you know where, might have been a valuable asset recently, lol.

Anyway, I made this card using a stamp from Dimension 4th.  The circle patterned paper is from Crafts Too, the written paper is something that I made ages ago when doing a scrapbook of my daughter’s younger years – I knew I’d use it one day, lol.  I’ve also used a Martha Stewart border snowflake punch, and my new Magnolia die for the doily trim.  I covered the snowman with Glamour dust, and added some Flower soft to give a snowy ground for him to stand on.  Colouring done with Copics – of course!!

Hope you like it.

Hugs to all
